AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL.  The words of this stirring song were inspired by the view from Pike's Peak.  My son and I felt that same inspiration when we looked out across America as the songwriter did.  As Americans, we owe an obligation of stewardship to our people, to our environment, and to the other nations which look to us for leadership.

     All across America the needs of the people were neglected for too long, but nowhere has it been worse than in the Fourteenth Congressional District of Texas.  The present Congressman, Ron Paul, has been so busy being the guru of the extreme right that he has failed to address the needs of the district.  It is time to change that situation. 

    Throughout the ten counties within the 14th Congressional District there are infrastructure needs. The first thing that is needed is a levee to protect Galveston against a storm surge.  Without it, we are just playing Russian roulette with Mother Nature. This project requires federal funding and supervision, and Ron Paul has not taken charge.  I will.
